Alex Christensen, born on April 7, 1967, in Hamburg, Germany, is a distinguished German music producer, composer, and DJ. He is best known as a founding member of the electronic music project U96, which gained prominence in the 1990s.

Early Career and U96

Christensen began his musical journey in 1991, achieving early success with U96's single "Das Boot," a techno adaptation of the film's theme. The track reached number one in several countries, marking a significant milestone in the techno genre.

Solo Projects and Collaborations

In 2002, Christensen adopted the moniker Alex C. and collaborated with vocalist Yasmin K., producing hits like "Du Hast Den Schönsten Arsch Der Welt," which sampled The Soundlovers' "Run Away." This track achieved international success and was re-released in multiple languages.

Christensen has also worked with artists such as Right Said Fred, Marky Mark, Tom Jones, NSYNC, Rollergirl, Marianne Rosenberg, Sarah Brightman, and ATC, showcasing his versatility across various musical styles.

Eurovision Song Contest

In 2009, Christensen represented Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow with the song "Miss Kiss Kiss Bang," performed alongside Oscar Loya. The performance concluded with a 20th-place finish.

Jasper Forks and Later Work

In 2010, Christensen adopted the name Jasper Forks to explore a different musical direction, focusing on tech piano house. His single "River Flows in You," a composition by Korean pianist Yiruma, achieved top 10 positions on airplay charts across Europe.

Classical Dance Projects

Demonstrating his innovative approach, Christensen launched the "Classical Dance" series, blending classical music with dance hits. The "Classical 90s Dance" album, released in 2017, was particularly successful, reaching the top 10 in Germany and selling over 30,000 copies.

In 2021, he released "Classical 80s Dance," featuring collaborations with artists like Bonnie Tyler and Ronan Keating, further solidifying his reputation as a pioneer in merging classical and dance music.

Recent Activities

Christensen continues to perform live, notably with "Alex Christensen & The Berlin Orchestra," presenting orchestral renditions of 80s and 90s dance hits. These performances have been well-received, blending electronic dance music with orchestral arrangements.
